Taking The SAT or ACT
Most students take these tests at the end of their junior year or the beginning of the senior year.
Fee waivers are available (contact your counselor)
It is a good idea to take a SAT prep class or buy a practice test book or buy SAT prep software.
In the past, Oak Grove has offered low cost SAT prep classes. It is unlikely that this will happen again. Contact the counseling department in January.
It is also wise to take the PSAT, a practice test for the SAT. This test is given in October.

The Univeristy of California is offering a free practice SAT preparation course online. Go to http://www.uccp.org
Hint: If you are having difficulty with the SAT, give the ACT a chance. It is framed differently and some students have more success there.
