High School Graduation Requirements
n 220 Credits needed to Graduate
n High School Exit Exam must be passed by end of senior year. Beginning with class of
n Specific course requirements need to be fulfilled.
n English
- Must pass 4 years (eight semesters)
n Mathematics
- 2 years
- Algebra & Geometry (For most students)
or
- Any 2 years of a higher level math (Algebra 2, Calculus, Math Analysis)
n Science
- 2 Years of Lab Science
- Any 2 lab science classes (Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.)
n Physical Education
- 2 Years
- Usually Taken Freshman and Sophomore years.
n Social Studies
- 3 Years – Must pass the entire year and the exact courses listed below
World History (Sophomore Year)
U.S. History (Junior Year)
Economics/Government (Senior Year)
n Fine Arts or Foreign Language
- 1 year of either a Foreign Language or Fine Arts (Drama, Art, Choir, Band, etc.)
U.C. and CSU colleges require both.
High School Exit Exam
n High School Exit Exam (CHSEE): REQUIRED for Graduation
- Reading/Writing
- Math Section
- Offered 1-3 times per year beginning sophomore year
