Some program changes are necessary. However, we do not change classes just to change teachers or electives! |
|
When initiating a program change, you must go to the counselor that is assigned to you. Please do not have another counselor make a change that may be reversed later. Deal with the person assigned to you.
If the counselor is not in her or his office or is busy, leave a note. We will get back to you!
Acceptable Schedule Changes:
1) Inappropriate Level: Example: You should be in Spanish 3 instead of Spanish 2. 2) Family conflict: Example: Siblings at Oak Grove are on two different schedules, 1-6 and 2-7. 3) Graduation Requirements: Example: You need to retake U.S. History in order to graduate. 4) Sports conflict: Example: You have chemistry 7th period and you miss 7th period 3 days a week for games. (Note: this must be done at the beginning of a semester, not part way through)
Unacceptable Schedule Changes:
1) Changing Teachers 2) Changing Electives
We all know some teachers are more demanding than others and some teachers are friendlier than others. Your job as a student is to succeed in any environment. After all, when you enter the work force, you can’t pick your boss.
Choose electives carefully! It is a full year commitment! |
