Surviving High School can be difficult, but with proper planning you can make it through the difficult times!

n There is more freedom – It is easier for students to fail or get in trouble. Keep track of what your student is doing.

n Contact your student’s teachers! Early contact can head off problems before it is too late!

n Get him/her involved in sports, clubs, tutoring programs. These activities will keep your student out of trouble.

n Frequently ask your child about homework and projects. Do not assume everything is getting done or that everything is understood.

n Go to back to school night! You will learn how the class is structured and what is required.

n All Oak Grove teachers have email and voice mail. Contact the school or visit the Oak Grove website. Email and Voicemail are listed there.

n Students can organize themselves by writing down assignments in their agenda. Checking the agenda daily will avoid missing assignments. A little planning will make life much easier.

n You can access your child’s attendance and grades online. Contact Mike Lynch about Parent Connect at: 347-6514

n Use School Loop to see assignments and student progress.

n Visit the Oak Grove Website frequently!
